Prepare a birthday party need a lot of details and could be stressful if not handled well. So how to prepare a fun birthday party? First of all, write down a to-do-list on a piece of paper, to avoid everything gets rushed at the last time.

Here are some steps to prepare a birthday party:
Send text messages or email invitation 3 weeks ahead. The invitation can be personalized with the pictures or something the birthday person is known for. If the party is for your kid, then put the cute face on the invitation. Be creative on what kind of invitation to send out.
Also choose the right theme, if for the kid, then the theme would be young, or if for the daddy, maybe some sports theme would be appreciated. Anyway, keep the birthday one happy and others are entertained at the same time. Also team up guests and hand out award at the end.
The next thing will be decide what to order and where like foods and drinks and other useful things for a party. You can ask help from your neighbor or hire a cook from a hotel or you can directly order from a caterer which could save some time and money and also do some research on local party supplies could be better.
Do remember to order a cake. If you have kids, you might want to teach your kids how to greet the guests. A week before that, you should get all the party supplies ready, food, drink. Also don’t forget to confirm with every guest to see who is coming and who is not. Of course always prepare for more, just in case.
Also don’t forget to charge the camera and/or video camcorder. If you don’t have one, maybe it is a good time to get one. Now it is time to party!
Make the birthday educational as well, not just the day get presents and cake. Before the birthday, let the child go through old clothes, books and toys, pack up the ones which he no longer plays, and donate them to local charity. This will help the child establish a sense of responsibility and also let the child feel good about what he has done.
Oh, one last thing, don’t forget to buy a birthday present. A awesome party but no present could be surprisely unexpected.
